Spunbond is usually quite rigid as a material. We are therefore proud to now be able to offer elastic spunbond that combines elastane and polypropylene. The elastic material resumes its original shape despite being stretched. Read more about traditional spunbond.
WHERE IS IT USED?
It is primarily used within the healthcare and hygiene sectors because it follows the movements of the body and is soft and breathable.
Hygiene: Elastic spunbond is used in hygiene products such as diapers.
Healthcare: The material is excellent for wound care products as well as products in contact with the skin that need to follow the movements of the body. Also used in disposable garments in the healthcare sector.

It is made of plastic granules that are melted down and pressed out as long, very thin elastic fibers. In “regular” spunbond, these filaments are not elastic. The fibers are distributed on a conveyor belt. The material is then fluffy. In the next step, heat is added and the spunbond is pressed between rollers that compress the material.
The material is supplied on a roll and is available in a number of different dimensions and thicknesses.
